Meet the Team

Jeanette Martin
Musical Director

Jeanette’s love of singing, began at a young age. She has sung in various choirs, and Amateur Dramatic Societies in Teesside, including Tees Valley G & S Society, where she took Mezzo Soprano roles, and more recently, belonged to Felling Concert Choir.

Whilst teaching singing part time, she was encouraged to start her own choir by her friends and pupils, and so Bella Canta Ladies Choir was born.

She was also Musical Director of the newly formed Rhapsody Choir in
Hurworth, Darlington 2022 – 2023. Singing fills her heart with joy, and every song is her ‘favourite’

Alex Evans
Accompanist

Since resuming Piano playing in 2016 Alex has attained his ATCL piano diploma and is currently working on his LTCL repertoire to take in the next year or so. He started accompanying in 2018, playing for Billingham Choral Society and later in 2019 starting with Bella Canta Ladies Choir. Alex regularly accompanies local students in their exams in the Teesside area, and has accompanied instrumentalists and singers at recitals and festivals.

In his spare time he plays Bass Trombone for North Skelton Brass Band and also picked up Classical Guitar through the 2020 lockdown, working towards Grade 5 on that instrument. Alex is also studying part time for a music degree with the Open College of the Arts.
